The F4U corsair was a US Carrier based aircraft that was mainly used in the pacific theater during WWII. Mostly completing air to ground missions(although it was readily availible for air to air) this fine aircraft was dubbed "whistling death" by the Japanese soldiers due to a distinct whistling sound that was made while the aircraft was diving.
