The 1955 Chevrolet corvette was thought to be the last year for the vettes because instead of producing 10,000 only 700 were made. The rivaling Ford Thunderbird also was a big factor for this but the 55 was the first corvette to have a V8 engine. Somehow the corvette survived and has become a very nice classic car.
