Hawker Hexhunter
Hawkwer Hex-Hunter
Fictional
C. 1937-41
Theatre: Experimental / Burma
Role: Variable / Patrol
Operations
Landing: Trim up and nose up as you land, power down when close to final approach (has long landing). Tail wheel touchdown first. Pull up as you gently pulse brakes on the ground. Nose heavy.
Take-off: Trim up, pull up hard as you power up. Nose heavy.
Flight: Turn radius is a bit wide for dog fighting but should be realistic enough. Has a bit a jump to some maneuvers, and can stall under some turns. Nose heavy and needs decent power (50-75% min) for most operations. Glides like a rock. Note that cockpit controls are for show and not VR. Not Carrier compatible, does not float.
AGs
Landing Gear: Normal
AG 1: Lights/internal
AG 2: Lights/External
AG 3: Open Canopy
Camera: Camera 1 for seat camera. Default cockpit is behind pilot seat.
Weapons
4 x 7.7 mm Vickers Machine Guns. General Purpose, typical RAF weapons. Slightly modded for higher rate of fire (900 rnds per minute).
2 x 40 mm Vickers Class S Guns. Anti-armor.
Fictional Background
An early Hawker aircraft (experimental) that was supposed to supplement squadrons with an early idea of a multirole aircraft, though didn’t quite fit the bill during the war due to some of its more custom features and rough dynamics, especially landings. It would soon be supplanted by its cousins the Spitfire and Hurricane. Hex Hunters would see action in a variety of far-flung theatres as supplementary fighters, such as this one in Burma. Its odd livery (numbering) was initially part of its experimental phase, and kind of just stuck during the war.
Creator Notes Haven’t built in a while and this was a few hours build. Still having trouble with Simpleplanes randomly crashing as well (sorry no in game pics). Hope this fulfills the requirements!
