Boeing 747-400 - United Airlines (United Charter Livery)
About United Airlines:
United Airlines, Inc. is a major airline in the United States headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. United operates an extensive domestic and international route network across the United States and all six inhabited continents, primarily out of its seven hubs, with Chicago–O'Hare having the largest number of daily flights and Denver carrying the most passengers in 2023. Regional service is operated by independent carriers under the brand name United Express.
United was formed by the amalgamation of several airlines in the late 1920s, the oldest of these being Varney Air Lines, created in 1926 by Walter Varney who later co-founded the predecessor to Continental Airlines. In 1997, United became one of the five founding airlines of Star Alliance, of which it remains a member today. Since its merger with Continental in 2010, United consistently ranks as one of the world's largest airlines; it is currently first by the number of destinations served and fleet size, and second in terms of revenue and market capitalization.

About the Boeing 747-400:
The Boeing 747-400 is a large, long-range wide-body airliner produced by Boeing Commercial Airplanes, an advanced variant of the initial Boeing 747. The "Advanced Series 300" was announced at the September 1984 Farnborough Airshow, targeting a 10% cost reduction with more efficient engines and 1,000 nautical miles [nmi] (1,900 km; 1,200 mi) of additional range. Northwest Airlines became the first customer with an order for 10 aircraft on October 22, 1985. The first 747-400 was rolled out on January 26, 1988, and made its maiden flight on April 29, 1988. Type certification was received on January 9, 1989, and it entered service with Northwest on February 9, 1989.
It retains the 747 airframe, including the 747-300 stretched upper deck, with 6-foot (1.8 m) winglets. The 747-400 offers a choice of improved turbofans: the Pratt & Whitney PW4000, General Electric CF6-80C2 or Rolls-Royce RB211-524G/H. Its two-crew glass cockpit dispenses with the need for a flight engineer. It typically accommodates 416 passengers in a three-class layout over a 7,285 nmi (13,492 km; 8,383 mi) range with its 875,000-pound (397 t) maximum takeoff weight (MTOW).

About N194UA:
N194UA was one of 44 Boeing 747-400’s in the United fleet. Of course, it was just your usual Queen of the skies, but it had a special “United Charter” Livery. (which honestly looks more basic than the UAL livery)
The specific aircraft had its first flight in 6/9/1996, was 19.2 years old at the end of its life, and was tested at Everett’s Paine Field (PAE/KPAE) with an unknown test registration. The Manufacturing Serial Number (MSN) is 26892, and its line number is 1088.
The aircraft was in service with the following airlines before it was scrapped:
- United Airlines, from 19/9/1996 - 7/1/2011, with the registration N194UA.
- It was stored at Victorville’s Southern California Logistics Airport (VCV/KVCV) 25/8/2010 - 26/4/2010, and 7/1/2011 (when it was withdrawn from use) - 6/4/2011.
- Atlas Air, from 6/4/2011 - 1/1/2012, with the registration N194UA
- United Airlines, from 1/1/2012 - 27/8/2015, with the registration N194UA.
- It was withdrawn from use in 27/8/2015, and stored at Tupelo Regional Airport (TUP/KTUP) in 9/9/2015.
It was later scrapped at Tupelo Regional Airport in 2016, ending the life of this strange colour scheme.
