323 BoatyPlanes

Auto Credit Based on BoatyPlanes's Schneider
In an attempt to create interest for BoatyPlane fighters, in 1929 BoatyPlanes entered and won the Schneider Trophy with this aircraft. Esteemed Russian test pilot and co-designer Pikeovlev flew it to victory, winning the trophy for the third time, and therefore securing the trophy for Britain! It was so good, and easy to fly, that it was used as a trainer for racing pilots for many years to come, and even developed briefly as a fighter. It also ushered in a new era of monoplane machines, like the spitfire and hurricane fighters of WW2.
