The R-24T is an improved version of the previous R-23T that have a better sensitvity than the R-23T and has an improved range in high altitude and it was in service with the Soviet Air force (VVS) in 1981 and used until the fall of the Soviet Union until 1997 by the Russian Air force when they retire thier MiG-23's and Currently used by 3 air forces
