As the war came to an end, the Luftwaffe high command was even more desperate to develop an aircraft that could deliver pain to the advancing Allied soldiers. Heinkel, Messerschmitt, and Arado all entered into a competition for the contract. Heinkel, the first to submit their design, had the P.1192.02A. Messerschmitt submitted their P.1192.01B, and Arado with their P.1200.1C. No company was ever chosen, as the war ended before the decision could be made.
