The XF-11 was a experimental aircraft designed by Howard Hughes in 1946. On the first flight, the planes right fuel tank burst causing the plane to veer right. Hughes tried to land at a nearby countey club, but instead crashed and damaged 3 houses, and the 3rd one was destroyed. Hughes was nearly killed. He was later saved by a friend visiting family that day. Then they built a sucsessful 2nd prototype in 1947, but the program was cancelled. This plane is very easy to fly and it resembles the P-38 Lightning. Happy flying! Pilot level: 2
