The BB 306 locomotive is a hydraulic diesel locomotive owned by a large railway depot in Jakarta Kota. This locomotive is often used to shunt passenger trains that will depart from Jakarta Kota Station. This locomotive was often used in the 80s to 90s.

This BB 306 locomotive is famous for its Samba hydraulic transmission with throttle characteristics that can be directly reversed when the locomotive moves forward. The transmission automatically acts as a hydraulic brake until this locomotive stops and then moves backwards.

The policy of eliminating the activity of the 3xx BB locomotive shunt in the Tanah Abang Locomotive Dipo, makes the BB306 locomotive allocated in this locomotive depot not operating. Some of these locomotives are stored, or taken to Cikampek Station for scrap.
