The Yakovlev Yak-28 is a swept wing, turbojet-powered combat aircraft used by the Soviet Union. Produced initially as a tactical bomber, it was also manufactured in reconnaissance, electronic warfare, interceptor, and trainer versions, known by the NATO reporting names Brewer, Firebar, and Maestro respectively. Based on the Yak-129 prototype first flown on 5 March 1958, it began to enter service in 1960.

@Countache27 Yeah, I wonder how many people thought this is a fictional aircraft.
@SledDriver I could've sworn that I new aircraft...
(Thank you for pointing this out. I actually had no idea this aircraft even existed...)
@Countache27 Yakovlev Yak-28
I like it. It has the sleek lines of an SU-27 (to me at least) and has the underwing engine pods of a B-58 Hustler.
@FGW2014 It means it's fine whichever of my builds you like best :)
@SledDriver what is that suppose to mean ( -_-) suspicious look *dramatic music
@SledDriver de rien ;)
@EternalDarkness Yeah, I know. Probably a bug in the game engine. I can't be bothered to figure it out.
@SledDriver that's not supposed to happen. They are just fuselages on rotators. Without mass and drag, they shouldn't do anything for both plane and game performance.
@Phil2003 Well, as I said, I don't build exact replicas (because I like to think I have a higher purpose than being a copy machine), and speed is a part of that. I chose the two speeds (~1000 mph and ~3700 mph) for my flight module because I find them the best to get around in the SP sandbox. Occasionally I adjust them to suit the plane, but mostly I prefer to keep my flight model consistent across all my builds.
I don't see SP as a place to recreate all the limitations of real life, but something like the Matrix where we can surpass the limitations of real life.
You got the bit about details right, because I can think of few things more boring than constantly comparing blueprints/photos to my build, trying to match every single detail down to rivets. Again, I'm not a copy machine. I like to capture the essence of an aircraft.
As for landing gear, I don't find them worth the time and effort they take. Control surfaces using rotators often kill performance for no discernible reason, and I can't be bothered to figure out why. I have a choice: I could spend my time building lots of great designs, or I could build a lot fewer airplanes and waste time building essentially the same thing (landing gear) over and over again. To me, that's an easy choice.
Np! @SledDriver
@SledDriver The main thing is the jet flies, but you should pay attention to the speeds, because they are usually very exaggerated. however, you can shoot the USS Beast and the USS Tiny and the Destroyer with your jets. If, for example, the rocket warning comes then I can put the thrust on full pot and the rockets are much slower than me. But with that I have not criticized your masterpieces for God's sake, because through your jets I noticed that it does not depend on details, but the general appearance of the aircraft. The forms, the certain things that are supplied by some other jets from other users with superfluous things. your planes have no landing gear or the controls that are not moving. That's superfluous with your jets. I also think that you go with patience to your work, because what is partly uploaded by users (like me) is just blabbering and without regard to losses, the main thing one gets a pity upvote XD. I sound somehow poetic and cheeky brrr. All in one, keep it up!
@EternalDarkness Before you ask, I did add control surfaces, but they kill performance on this build for some reason. Every few seconds the game just freezes.
@Phil2003 Yeah, those are quite interesting shapes. I'll put them on my list. But note that my builds are never exact replicas, only loosely based on the real thing.
@FGW2014 OK, well, as long as you like something :)
Thanks, @CRJ900Pilot
@FGW2014 I sincerely agree
@SledDriver well...Can you build us a Eurofighter Typhoon? or a Panavia Tornado?
@SledDriver not only how it flies but how it looks, just the profile of your last build, it's sleek design yet elegant curves and coloring, they are just appealing to the eye, you know
Cool!
Danke, @Phil2003. Well, I don't find airliners very interesting, but if I run out of other ideas I might make one.
@grizzlitn Thanks :)
Interesting!
Can you built commerical Jetliner like 757, a300 or something for us.
Your Airplanes looking so real and they have no sharp Edges like any other Simple Planes Aircrafts.
Thumbs Up!!!
Well done my friend :)
@FGW2014 Oh, why's that?
