Sunshine Clipper
VTOL Down to raise Landing Gear and Camera 1 for cockpit view
The Sunshine Clipper was a small two-seat amphibious homebuilt aircraft designed and built by Henry C. Palmer of St. Petersburg, Florida. The aircraft was rather unusual in using an aluminum 1948 Orlando Clipper rowboat as the basis for the fuselage, which was then combined with Piper Cub wings and components of other Piper aircraft. The Sunshine Clipper first flew in 1987 powered by a 65 hp Continental engine (later a 100 hp). The one-of-a-kind aircraft flew quite comfortably at a blazing 65 mph. It is considered the best fishing craft in the world due to its amphibious nature. I really hope you guys like this. Ive spent about a month working on this airplane and it flies and looks very close to the original. The flying wires were a real pain in the butt. I've even included a working control stick and throttle quadrant. Also, I've noticed it likes to get up on the step when taking off from the water much like an actual seaplane. Well, anyways, I hope you like it as much as I do!
