In April 1931, the Military Aviation of the Brazilian Army received 4 Nieuport Delage NiD 72C1 high-altitude fighters, which were registered K 421 to K 424 for use in the Mixed Aviation Group, in Campo dos Afonsos. It was a variant of the French Army's NiD 62C1. Called ¿Legér¿, the NiD 72C1 was lighter, had metal-coated wings and a wide-root metal propeller, the water radiators were moved from the landing gear legs to the soffit of the lower wings and the dynamo moved from the upper wing to the amount of the left wing.It was equipped with a 12-cylinder V-shaped engine, water-cooled Hispano-Suiza 12 Hb of 500 hp. It reached a speed of 268 km/h, had an operational ceiling of 8,400 meters and a range of 600 km. There were only two devices in use in 1932 when the Constitutionalist Revolution broke out. The K 423 was taken from Campo dos Afonsos to São Paulo by Captain Adherbal da Costa Oliveira who had joined the rebels' cause. Thus, each one fought on one side, without, however, facing each other in flight. One of them survived until 1937.
