Solar Plane

442 Ninja15  3.6 years ago

This is a replica of current (2021) solar plane concepts, it is not modeled after some solar drones that have so many panels, they could theoretically fly continuously without external limiting factors. Also, try to pretend that the cylinders in the engines are instead magnet wire coils. Like a real solar plane today, this can not fly forever. That will come soon.

Interesting concept... I saw this in the news, and now it's here. Have an updoot.

@LieutenantSOT Thanks for the suggestion! I was trying to do that, using the overload mod, but I couldn't seem to get it to work. I was changing the range value, is there something else that should be changed instead?

    Ooh! Pretty cool!

One suggestion for your true solar build: use a throttlable rotator that rotates infinitely. Attach wings to the rotator and you have an electric engine that does not make the noise of an engine
