The Hellcat competed with the faster Vought F4U Corsair for use as a carrier based fighter however, the corsair suffered from poor visibility and landing which the hellcat did not.
Detailed cockpit as usual :)

The hellcat actually shot down the MOST amount of Japanese fighters
Wasnt the F6F the spawn from a Mitsubishi Zero that the americans found in alaska and used it to make it better than the Zero?
AWESOME, my favorite paint
@BaconAircrafts OMG you should make the BTD-1 is a really cool American Naval Dive bomber/Torpedo bomber
Don't worry about it. WalrusAircraft has done it!
Alright @jamesPLANESii
Thanks @FlOu
Actually make it 2x scale, when I tell you, I'm still looking at my overnight notifications. I think someone might have already done it. @BaconAircrafts
Wow this fuselage is great
Wow. Nice plane but could use some inlays.
@Brields95 I mostly free hand from a blueprint but make sure the proportions are somewhat correct.
@WalrusAircraft Thanks! :D
@jamesPLANESii Ok i was busy. Ill do it now
@BaconAircrafts Why couldn't you mod me Explorer?
I made the engines to be used just like this. Looks good! @BaconAircrafts
Do you use 3views and measuring divice (such as a lego plank) or do you just free hand your planes from a reference picture?
@WalrusAircraft I used your radial engines and credits where given; i hope you are ok with it! :)
