B-56 Raccoon
History
The B-56 Raccoon is a light bomber that was derived and modified some key parts of the design, for example, the engines were replaced with the new Resusaka RA-12 Turbojets. The cockpit, vertical stabilizer, and elevators were redesigned, the main landing gear was also moved.
The design was accepted in mid 1960s, and the first prototype was being assembled, the prototype began flying in 1973.
Orders began from the Snowstone Air Force, and the Krakaboa Air Force.
A total about 300 orders were made for the bomber.
The first early B-56 proved very reliable, having decent reliability and can shoot both anti ship missiles and dumb bombs together.
Today, most of the B-56s are still in service and are modernized to the newest variant, the B-56G.
There are also variants off the aircraft, the cancelled SST-21 Skyboom, and the E-59 Eyewatcher.
