UL-02 Flitter
Another FAA Part 103 Compliant Ultralight, VR Capable!
I stole the engine and throttle from @jamesPLANESii. Credit to them.
Design History:
Looking to save the company from bankruptcy after the Three Years’ War, Krakabloan Imperial Aircraft works produced a number of civilian aircraft. In 2403 G.T., the design team thought up the UL-02, with an advantage over the UL-01 PuffDragon in the form of a $5,000 kit starting cost versus $15,000. Using metal tubes (or carbon fiber, adding $3,000) for the primary construction and wooden ribs in the wings to save weight, it was labeled easy to build and “uncomplicated to control”.
Commercial History:
A major success in the first four years and saving the company, more than 5,600 were sold in the opening year. It was often used as a solo trainer for aircraft and an estimated 2,000 Krakabloans earned their pilot’s license by training in a Flitter. The Krakabloan Air Defense considered using them as scout/FAC/light attack aircraft, and more than a few were exported to other countries.
