After gretting tired of random pilots running rampant and bombing the island, the inhabitants of krakabloa decided to fight back. Their solution was the Ares protector. Not a showboat like some other planes.... Ahem..... The protector's soul purpose is to destroy airborne invaders of krakabloa.
With six interceptors to destroy distant foes and 6 guardians for closer encounters, the island shouldn't have a problem again. It was created with a state of the art vtol system to resp pond to threats within seconds. It can even take off straight up. Another key feature is the incredible maneuverability. Even at supersonic speeds it's turn radius is quite remarkable. The only purpose of the looks of the fighter is to camouflage with the grassy and sandy of the island.
-to take off, simply throttle up, wait for a second then smoothly push the vtol forward while pitching up. For the aforementioned straight up just throttle up, pitch up, and from 45° to 90° push the vtol up. The high maneuverability sometimes causes some instability at lower speeds so be careful. If you're at all worried about your missiles getting to their targets, ag1-6 fire 2 for redundancy. (1-3 are interceptors and 4-6 are guardians)-

Aesthetic 6.8/10. The green and yellow paint scheme is very nice and the inlets behind the cockpit and on the nose cone are aesthetically pleasing. (+0.5p) The camouflage is also very functional, overall a pretty good looking plane.
Functionality 8.9/10. With 12 air to air missiles and Mach 1 Capabilities, this planes performance is very, very nice. VTOL capabilities add a whole new way to operate as well (carrier based.) this aircraft is very functional, easily taking out hostiles and zooming off. (+0.5p)
Impressions 4/5. At first I tried to take off with the VTOL and it didn’t work but I soon realised that you simply have to gently up the VTOL slider. This is an intuitive plane to fly, nice.
Aerodynamics 7.5/10. The speed is pretty good, but pitching up heavily results in a wobble (-0.5p, not something you want to encounter at 1000mph) so overall the aerodynamics is pretty good, but the pitch wobble is definitely something to work on.
Description 2.5/3. Nice, logical description, with a good backstory, (+0.5p) this is a nice plane.
Overall 29.7/38 (78%) A functional aircraft with many capabilities, and few flaws. Nice job on this aircraft
