Gloster Meteor
This is my entry for the WW2 Jet Challenge. Originally going to be an fictional 'Simple' Meteor, I've just gone with an basic replica.
My attempt at the Gloster Meteor.
Armament:
4x Wing Guns (in nose)
2x Boom 25 (under fuselage)
Controls:
AG1 = Engines
AG3 = Enable Guns
AG4 = Enable Bombs
AG5 = Release both bombs at once
VTOL down for flaps
Ease the jet off the ground at around 170mph IAS.
Don't pull anything crazy at low speeds. (Or you could fall out of the sky). Don't worry if you're just going to be intercepting bombers or dive bombing.
The jet's interception abilities were tested against the default 'bomber' and the Tutorial Plane.
The Meteor was Britain's jet fighter in WW2. It was the only Allied jet to see combat in the war. Development went back into 1940. The jet engines were being developed since 1936, and the plane first flew in 1943 and operations started the following year.
