The F4N-2 “Wraith” is an American made naval fighter aircraft from the early 1960’s. Made as a competitor to the F-8 Crusader and F-4 Phantom II, the Wraith tries to combine the close in fighting ability of aircraft like the F-8 and the BVR capabilities of the F-4. The Wraith has a for the time advanced radar set and the ability to carry the AIM-7 Sparrow radar guided missile, along with the avionics to support the AIM-9 Sidewinder IR guided missile. For the more conventional side of armament, the Wraith has four 20mm cannons mounted to the underside of the fuselage. These weapons along with the flight performance of the F4N-2 gives it great capabilities over the Crusader and Phantom, along with being carrier capable. With that said, the Wraith never was accepted into service or saw any action. This lack of support was caused by the shift of fighter doctrine to missiles over guns, and due to the smaller weapon load of the Wraith compared to the Phantom, it was seen as inferior. On top of this, the smaller fuel load and shorter loiter time meant it could not be on station as long as a Phantom, especially in scenarios of defending a carrier group. To add on, the F-8 Crusader already filled the role of a true fighter, and there was no need to push it out of service.

If wanting to play in VR, good luck as I can’t test the ergonomics of the cockpit, but if you grab the “pilot” model and remove it, it should take all extra details and leave the camera. The cockpit controls are in the instructions in game.
