During the Pre-Crossing War, battles were mostly fought in space. Orbital weapon platforms were used against ground targets while entire squadrons of aerospace fighters and planetside anti-orbital artillery were used to repel them. One of those aerospace fighters was the Gyrfalcon MKII.V, a military modification of the civilian model MKII. The S variant, equipped with 12 fusion torpedoes, was specifically used for anti-orbital platform operations. And since it used the Gyrfalcon MKII frame, it was also very capable of close-quarter dogfights, even though it's payload was a bit too much of an overkill against a normal aerospace fighter and its lack of sufficient close-quarter weaponry made it difficult to quickly destroy enemy fighters.
