Sukhoi SU-34

72.5k Authros  8.6 years ago
Auto Credit Based on Authros's a Sukhoi SU-34

Please read instructions carefully before use to avoid any unexpected explosions:
1 and VTOL up stows gears
2 and VTOL up closes gear doors
!!!(Use in the correct order, using both at the same time or in the wrong order will explode the plane)!!!

3 and VTOL up extends fuel boom.
4 and 5 fire missiles.
6 for afterburners to get you to 1300 mph and 30k ft. Uses up a lot of fuel at low altitude.
7 drops the planes load except for the missiles.
8 deactivates the landing lights.

Full load out is 4 air to air missiles, 2 rocket pods, 2 x 50 bombs, 14 x 25 bombs and a gatling gun.

This plane also comes with flaps (VTOL down) which are more for show, a working brake and a full cockpit view complete with activate radar and lights. And as always, enjoy.

The gears done come close to the rocket pods. Are you closing the gear doors at the same times as retracting the gears? That would cause an explosion, but I explained that in the description. @weaselfan10101

dude. This is nice work but.... when you try to retract the landing gears you will explode cuz the gears goes inside the rocket pod and then rocket pod explodes and that starts a chain reaction that the whole backside of the plane blows up

@Authros It is a very nice looking color scheme, cheers.

Thank you. I didn't know it was called that. I picked it because i wanted to replicate one of the paint jobs, this was a little easier than making camouflage and it was my favourite. @MisterMasada

That's not good. they were working, might be due to a change in the recent update. I'll check that. I'll also take this opportunity to remove the colliders for the additional rotator parts on the gears. @TheLatentImage

Really well done, I also like that you went with the (I think) president's day color scheme, I'm pretty sure that's what it is, namely because that's what a few people said this plane's color scheme was.

This is an outstanding version of this plane, excellent work. Unfortunately the rotators for the landing gear don't work correctly. @AndrewGarrison you may want to look at this build for troubleshooting. Authros, I'll try this again when the rotators get sorted out.

All I do is edit xml, nothing more. I just have a lot of experience with it now. @AV8R

@Authros Is there anywhere I can find information on doing "real" modding like you mention (not just editing the XML save file)? Seems like there is a lot of potential I still haven't tapped into in this game. A week or so ago I made this aircraft (was my first time editing XML files) and it just doesn't even compare to yours, in looks or performance! You can check it out if you'd like in my profile. My jaw is still on the floor with this one.

I modded the engine to be quite powerful. It's hidden in the central fuselage if you want to make it a component. It uses a lot of fuel very fast though so should be used at high altitude. @AV8R

@Authros Something I'd like to learn from you is how to do the afterburners like you do - they add so much power. When I try to do the same by adding VTOL engine(s) and ports, I get maybe 100-200kts out of it, not 600+ like yours gives.

I'm a huge fan of this aircraft (I think it's the sexiest aircraft in service today!) and you did such an excellent job replicating it in the game. Wish I could upvote twice.

It's a beta release. Walrus spotted that it had no beta flag. I was wondering if it was because it was created before the beta and I added the parts after the release and/or it is a successor to my test version which didn't have beta parts on. @Hyperloop @WalrusAircraft
