This aircraft was orginally meant as a long range racer aircraft for James Fitzmaurice a Irish pioneer aviator, who named it the Irish Swoop, It was built for the MacRobertson Race from England to Australia, but it never entered the competition and instead became a high speed bomber Bellanca 28-92
