Background

RU-120 Katyusha is a multiple rocket launcher system developed by the People's Army of Neorasia in mid-2022 and entered service with the People's Army of Neorasia in mid-2025.

The RU-120 was first deployed in combat during the Battle of Tangshan, where Neorasia’s forces launched an attack on areas occupied by the Mizuhara forces (then known as the Shadow Company). During this battle, the RU-120 bombarded Mizuhara's defenses throughout the night, resulting in the destruction of most of Mizuhara’s defenses in Tangshan.

During the Siege of Hanako City by Neorasia’s forces, the RU-120 was used to bombard the city and its defensive fortifications from both land and sea. Despite constant bombardment from the beginning of the siege in February 2026 to mid-March 2029, only 10.3%, or 7,435 out of 72,183 rockets launched, managed to hit the city. The rest were intercepted by air defense systems.

Toward the end of the Civil War, most of Neorasia’s RU-120 units were destroyed or captured by Mizuhara forces. During the Battle of Imperial Bay, only one RU-120 unit remained operational for Neorasia. This remaining unit was positioned on top of the Imperial Bay Courthouse. However, it was destroyed by an airstrike from the Mizuhara Air Force. The RU-120 exploded with all its rockets still mounted on the launcher, causing a massive detonation that collapsed the courthouse roof.

After the Civil War, it was confirmed that a total of 1,936 RU-120 Katyusha units had been produced. Of these, 1,293 units were destroyed during the war, and 643 units were captured by Mizuhara forces.
