The Schneider Trophy 1948'
Guten Tag! Welcome to the Empire of Germany! We are excited to be hosting the Schneider cup this year!
This is going to be a two part competition for the Cup, and a reward of $1,000,000 (15 upvotes)
The first part of the competition will be the building section. Here you will have to build a seaplane that fits all the qualifications.
1.) Dimensions can be up to 30ft long, 30ft wide. And be 10ft high. The fuselage can be 2,0 high and 2.0 across. And a cockpit above that. The propeller has to be three feet off the water.
2.) The aircraft design has to have the qualities of aircraft of our 20's, 30's, and 40's (even though this takes place in a alternate world.)
3.) No mods for engines, weights, lift or drag. You can resize parts but the cockpit must be its original size.
4.) You can use any cockpit (open or closed)
5.) Can use up to 2 engines (Turbo prop or a two engine seaplane)
6.) Most be able to sit in the water without falling over and be able to take off. I do not mind if you cant balance it perfectly, my planes aren't a lot of time.
I will upvote each submission. Please download this post and use the cockpit to build your aircraft. All submissions must be a successor to this post. All submissions most also be newly made aicraft, cot copies from your older post or repainted versions of someone else. If anyone copies another competitor that is a automatic disqualification.
The second part of this competition will be the testing phase. Here I will test the speed, and agility of your aircraft. I will give a 1 of 10 score after each testing and post it here.
The building stage ends on 8/15/16. After which testing will begin, that will last till the end of the month.
Good luck out there builders and may the best pilot win!

@ChiChiWerx Ok sounds good.
New Austro-Hungarian Empire and Bavaria
Attention-Attention! We are very sorry for the delay. The aircraft have been tested but thete was one step we missed, your aircraft had to be frkm a different country, please state where your aircraft is from (obe diffent nation per aircraft)
@ChiChiWerx Alright then.
@TheOwlAce then I vill have to wif ze Fw-290, ze obvious choice as eet ist ze faster of ze two!
ATTENTION, ATTENTION- THe judges have decided to only allow one submitting per nation (Builder) If you have two or more, please pick one as soon as possible.
ATTENTION, ATTENTION: After much debate, the end date for submissions will be at the end of the month. I will start testing aircraft tomorrow though so please send them in fast. That is all.
@InternationalAircraftCompany Thatll be fine.
My plane is 10.8 feet tall. May I keep to the way it is, or shorten it up?
Okay. :)@TheOwlAce
@InternationalAircraftCompany Atleast 1.5-2 feet
Does the prop HAVE to be 3 feet off the water? If so, I will have to severely cripple my plane.
ATTENTION, ATTENTION. Germany will be submitting its own design. Its' design will be the Arado-100-B Sparrow. (you can find it in my plane list.)
@InternationalAircraftCompany Alright.
I'm using one of the floats on my plane. Is that okay?
@ACMECo1940 Yep, the building portion is still open for five days.
Can I join
@ChiChiWerx if the hual isnt 10ft high then sure, itll do
Can I get a waiver for height? I have two airplanes, both based on the FW-190 (alternate history seaplane versions) which use a three pontoon setup (big central with two outriggers). Anyway, the smaller piston version is 11.3 ft tall and the re-engined turboprop "FW-290" is 13.1 ft tall. I won't be able to get the prop clearance if I shorten the central pontoon support mast...
@PINK Dont be a troll.
@General360 Want to enter the challenge?
@ChiChiWerx Just change it, aslong as you downloaded this first and made your plane in it. Just use the cockpit you want. Itll still work.
Ok, last dumb question. I assume you want successors, but you used the old cockpit block and both my entries use the sleek cockpits. What's the best way to fix this so that I can use the cockpit profiles I originally built?
@ChiChiWerx Has to last atleast 10 minutes on fuel.
Hi, is there an endurance requirement? I understand the Schneider races were short duration races.
