TB-17 Saiun is a Torpedo Bomber which was developed in 2017, the first prototype was completed in 2022 and began making its maiden flight on April 6, 2022, entered naval service in 2024, and was involved in the fourth Neo-Civil War

Operational History

In 2017, an aircraft engineer from the Shadow Company conducted research on several Torpedo Bombers from the 1919-1945 era, this research was carried out to develop a Torpedo Bomber, in mid-2017 a Torpedo Bomber Aircraft project for the Neo-Shadow Navy was proposed and the proposal was approved for further development.

After 5 years of development, the first prototype was completed on April 4 2022, and began its first flight on April 6, However, on the first flight there was a malfunction in the plane which caused the plane to crash and kill the pilot. On August 8 2022 the second prototype was completed and began carrying out several successful tests. In 2024 the aircraft was codenamed TB-17 Saiun and began entering Navy service.

Fourth Neo Civil War

On March 5 2025, armed contact occurred between Shadow Company troops and Neo People's Army troops at checkpoint 39 which separates the Neorasia region controlled by Shadow Company and Neo People's Republic government, at that time there was political tension between Shadow and Neorasia which caused Neorasia to split into two.

On June 8, 2026 the Fourth Neo Civil War occurred with the first battle taking place in the city of Suhaj in the African region of Neorasia, and the first naval encounter occurred in the Yellow Sea in the Neorasia Region of Asia involving the Shadow Navy Destroyers Kisaragi, Mutsuki, and Frigate Yahagi between Neo People's Army Type-77, Type-79, and Type-11 Destroyers.

TB-17 Saiun, from the 1st torpedo squadron of the aircraft carrier Shokaku began its action on July 19, by sinking 7 Neorasian Army Transport Ships.

On February 9, 2028, TB-17 Saiun from the 3rd Squadron of the Kaga Aircraft Carrier sunk the pride of the Neo People's Army Battleship, Owari at the Battle of the Oknawa Sea. And because it was Shadow's Battleship Hyuga became a victim of the Kaisei Naval Yard Raid carried out by the Neorasian Air Force

On December 9, 2035, TB-17 Saiun also joined in the attack on the Battleship A-250 which was carrying out an attack on the port of Yumemori Island, resulting in the sinking of the A-250 after being hit by 57 torpedoes, 71 bombs and 20 anti-ship missiles

On December 16, 2035, TB-17 Saiun also took part in the Jade Harbor Raid with the aim of crippling Neorasia ships and destroying the second A-250 class ship which was under construction. During the Jade Harbor Raid, 2 TB-17 Saiuns sank the Submarine Izumo which had been taken over by Neorasia, and another 1 TB-17 sank the Type-99 Cruiser which was hit by a Torpedo right in the Ammunition room

At the end of the Civil War, 7 TB-17 carried out an attack on Imperial Bay Harbor, but when it arrived at the target port TB-17's team did not find a single Neorasian ship, because of that they instead attacked the Neorasia Air Force Base by dropping the torpedoes they brought into the Hangar and fuel storage area, destroying 3 aircraft hangars and half Fuel Storage area

Post Civil War

The fourth Neo Civil War ended on January 1, 2040 with the victory of the Shadow Company and the founding of a new country, namely the Mizuhara Federation, and the end of the Neorasian Regime, During the civil war, it was reported that 263 TB-17 Saiun were destroyed/lost
