Flag of Tunisia

I wish I could make a more complex flag right now, but I'm very tired, so here is a quick one from me! This is the flag of the small country of Tunisia. Tunisia is squished in between the two north African giants of Algeria and Libya. Having been adopted in 1959, the flag is one of the older flags in Africa. The flag of Tunisia has a red background, and a star and crescent inside a white cirlce. The crescent and star is a classic symbol of Islam. In additon, the 5-pointed star represent the 5 pillars of Islam, which were discussed in detail on the Iranian flag. The star and crescent is called Osmanli, which is Turkish. Due to this, the star and crescent also represent the connection between Tunisia and the Ottoman Empire. Finally, the white circle symbolizes peace.
