Auto Credit Based on dINE's Boeing YB-40 Gunship
This is a modified b17 fitted with rolls royce dart turbine engines, the real airplane, B-17F 42-6107 buit at the vega lockheed plant in 1943. 42-6107 was derilict in washington until 1953 when it was converted to a water bomber by columbia automotive, it was registered with civil registration N1340N, given and flew as tanker 34 for aero flite, unfortunatly, in 1970, the airplane was fighting fires with another b17, when it hit trees, shearing 20 feet off the wing, and causing the b17 to crash, killing the crew, no other conversions were completed.
