Description

The Guardian class are a series of 20 Missile gunboats designed and built in the early 1970s for coastal defence and anti-ship Interdiction.

Measuring 48m long it's small size allows it to be extremely maneuverable and fast, capable of working in shallow coastal zones and rivers while sturdy enough to operate in the open oceans.
Powered by 2 gas turbines turning 4 shafts, it is capable of a cruising speed of 32 knots and emergency war speed of up to 48 knots.
It's armaments are extensive for a small and fast ship, with its main weapon including 4 heavy Antiship missiles and a single dual 57mm naval gun. Defensive armaments include a twin Bofors 40mm L/70 on a single mount, 4 Madrid Short-range AA missiles and 2x .50cal heavy machine guns on either side of the bridge wings.

Operated by a crew of 25 men, it's served as the mainstay defence ship for many decades, being involved in anti-piracy missions, coastal patrols reconnaissance and antiship assaults. All the while undergoing major upgrades to its sensors and armaments.
It was retired in the early 2000s for the more advanced Lillac Littoral patrol vessels
