Ki-8
(Fictional)
History
Designed in 1931 as a basic trainer for the Imperial Japanese Army Air Service, the Ki-8 helped to turn wannabe soldiers into the rock-hard pilots. These were the same pilots who undertook aerial operations over Manchuria and Korea during the opening stages of the War in the Pacific.
Outside of training roles, the Ki-8 was used as a scout aircraft and a single-seat transport in the early 40’s. The aircraft was fully phased out when all metal aircraft were in wide enough availability for these lesser tasks.
