Republic XF-103 Thunderwarrior (READ DESC)
The (would be) mighty Republic XF-103 Thunderwarrior. Capable of Mach 3+ speeds, flight at over 60,000 ft, a payload of four air to air missiles (both types), and a strange design of cockpit made this plane all it could've been. Instead of a normal canopy, the militay insisted on a periscope design, and much of the cockpit worked like an elevator, dropping out of the floor to load the pilot. Only one was ever constructed, and its planned engines never hit production, so the program was sadly cut short. This one here features a full cockpit which rises into and out of place, with a moving control pad inside, as well as 7 light indicators, and a dial to show VTOL setting. (VERY important for operation). Camera 1, or F5 is the periscope view. G1=Left side, green=Main engine on. G2=L, Orange=Fold down rear dorsal fin. (VTOL up). G3=L, Yellow=Taxi mode. Enables wheel steering and airbrakes. G4=R, Red=Guardian missiles. (Slide VTOL up to open missile bay 1).. G5=R, Orange=Interceptor missiles. (Slide VTOL up to open missile bay 2). Be sure missile bay 1 is closed before firing.G6=L, small blue=Enable ramjet,, big speed boost to reach full top speed. (To turn it off, throttle to 0, then disable g6). G8=L, Red blinking=Cockpit elevator. (Slide VTOL up to use. Be sure other action groups are diabled before using VTOL to control anything, to avoid problems/.
