In late 2005,Indonesia was still using the T-87 Muratt MBT,but they want more mobile MBT with larger gun and better protection,but still based on the Muratt,but they reduce the main tank armor,but give it ERA and some HEAT shells portection like chains around it,and other than using 120mm gun,its rearmed with 125mm and 40mm Autocannon,with 7.62mm machine gun,the tank was introduced and used by Indonesian army alongside the T-8,then this version will be known as T-87E7,T-87E Mk.2 is the version with better engine also made at the same time,with overall lighter weight than its older brother,The T-87s was one of the most best MBT until now,and even purchased by several countries
