First used in 2039, the Large Communications Drone was designed to offer a long-distance communication system that lacked the exorbitant price of comm satellites. It was nicknamed “Tern” for it’s ability to fly for long periods without landing, enabled by it’s light internal structure and a few helium tanks in the fualauge. A fully fueled Tern can remain at 70,000 feet for up to 3 months without landing.
