the Messerschmitt P.1110/II

The P.1110/II was designed at the beginning of 1945 for the German luftwaffe's "emergency fighter program". The new plane should have "superior performance", and the ability to deal with high-altitude threats such as the B-29.
Messerschmitt's design was for a relatively conventional plane, powered by a single Heinkel HeS 011A turbojet engine. The plane would certainly have been very recognizable with its annular-shape intake behind the cockpit and its V-tail.
Like many German designs of that time, it never got past the drawing board.

Not a bomber, you say? Well of course it would have been a bomber. Like the Me 262, which was also designed as a high-speed interceptor, it would have been turned into a fast but low-payload "schnellbomber" by Addled Adolf, who for some reason believed this to be a good idea. Not.

Armament

Sticking with the original P.1110 specs, this build has three MK108 30mm autocannon in the nose. These weapons, nicknamed "jackhammers" by Allied pilots, would be quite effective against planes as well as ground targets.

In its interceptor role, the P.1110 would also have carried 2 or 4 Ruhrstahl X-4 missiles. So I added two; since these missiles are wire-guided, they can also be used against ground targets... the main thing is that you have a clear view of the target, and keep a lock until the missile hits. The X-4's can be used to shoot down bombers, defend against enemy fighters, or hit light ground targets; keep in mind that their explosive charge isn't huge, so they're not very effective against seriously armored vehicles, bunkers etc... use against convoys and parked planes at leisure, though.

And finally, to crack the occasional tank or small bunker, the P.1110 can drop two 250kg bombs. Nothing fancy about those.

Controls

Roll, pitch, yaw, trim... and VTOL down for flaps. That's all there's to it; no special functions or other niceties. Just fly and shoot...

Have some fun bombing... then turn around and shoot down other people's bombers. Hehehe... ;)
