The S-40 Seagull is a civilian floatplane built for exploration of the world's oceans. Capable of extreme speed the aircraft most certainly excelled in its role, but that was put to a halt due to a minor incident in Hawaii around late 1941. As a result, the aircraft ceased production with only a few dozen built.
I would add landing gear but unfortunately the weight distribution is extremely delicate. Modify at your own risk.
