Succeeding the Zulu Class, the Foxtrot was developed with a larger ammunition load, range, and endurance. It's main task was undertaking long range patrols in the baltic, northern and pacific fleets. Due to the space taken up by the batteries, their interior space was limited even compared to older submarines such as the American Balao class. The Weight of the batteries also limited the Foxtrot's speed, with 2 knots being its maximum speed at maximum submerged endurance.
.
During the Cuban Missile Crisis, the class became famous in October 1962 when they were deployed to Cuba. Equipped with nuclear torpedoes, four vessels they carried out patrols in Cuban waters. Three of them were forced to surface by depth charge attacks from American vessels, while one escaped. One of these submarines came precariously close to launching one of its torpedoes, potentially escalating the crisis into a world war. The captain was convinced by two of his officers not to launch, with the submarine ultimately surfacing. Nuclear war was thus averted by a hair.
.
By the time the last submarine was launched, the Foxtrot was obsolete as submarines improved with features such as teardrop hulls. The Foxtrot would ultimately be fully retured by the Russian navy between 1995 and 2000, with 74 built in total. Other countries would be slower to retire their submarines, with India, Libya, and Ukrane still deploying theirs.

Features:
- Fully working hydroplanes and rudder (pitch and yaw)
- Simulated Ballast Control
- Unlimited Dive
- Near 1:1 Scale
- 6 Type 53-56 Torpedoes
- Sharper Steering: Though in previous Soviet Diesel boats I've left a slower turn rate for realism, I decided to improve it here to make the sub a bit more fun to take to the water.
Instructions:
Submarine Operation
1)Pitch for Pitch
2)Roll for Steering (Yaw)
3)VTOL for ballast (Sinking and Floating)
4)LandingGear to deploy bow planes.
Torpedo Deployment
1)Reduce Depth to around 30 feet.
2)AG2 to activate, switch to Air to Ground mode
3)Fireweapon to launch.
Easy Part Count Reduction: Pull off the Torpedo tubes on the bow (the squares) and delete to remove torpedoes, reducing part count.
Here it is the Foxtrot! Compared to my Golf I think I got the unique bow design down far better. I was originally going to release the LA class request, but issues with that one and the fact that this thing came together quicker resulted in this being released. Hope you enjoy!

@FOXG Glad you enjoy it!
@BurkeEnterprise I could add that to my requests sure, and thank you!
Hey, I just wanted to say holy crap these subs are amazing! Also my favourite sub is the Oscar ii class, and I would absolutely love to see it
Thanks! @MintLynx
@Nuclearbomber36 Here's that nuke torp sub!
@Nuclearbomber36 I could.
Can you make a russian Delta 1 class? @MintLynx
@MintLynx
I Have Finnished My Submarine
Cool thanks @MintLynx
@Nuclearbomber36 It would likely use the Nuke mod, but given the fact that the nukes are pretty much bombs it would be simple to make the torpedoes.
Can you make one with nuclear torpedos?@MintLynx
@ErichVonLudendorff Good news, the Scorpene is coming along well, got a body built and its workings in order. Next will come the torpedoes, the new F21 being the choice of weapon.
@toxicgamer88 Thank you! The lesser popularity of submarines on this site was part of what motivated me to pursue building and improving them.
Subs are very under appreciated in this game good job

@asteroidbook345 I could, though it'll take time since I got a couple requests already. x)
@ErichVonLudendorff I am aware of that, and it hasn't started yet given I've had this and another request. But I can get started on the body very soon!
A few days ago I sent a request for a Brazilian class escorpene submarine (S-40 Riachuelo) I would like to know if its construction has already started?
Cool
@MarinoYeet It's coming along, some issues with its working have resulted in some delays but it should come along soon. If you'd like I could give it an earlier release when its done as opposed to the usual Friday.
.
Also it might be released simply as an LA flight 3 class, since from the pics I've the Annapolis doesn't seem to have any distinguishing marks that visually set it apart from others of its class. Unless you'd like to to put the '760' on the sail as I've seen on some (non photograph) pics.
where is ze USS Annapolis?
