Pfalz D.IIIa ''Max Holtzem''
LINK TO MUCH BETTER VERSION
Hello everyone. Before I begin, I beg of you:
PLEASE, FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR OWN SANITY, NEVER ATTEMPT TO MAKE THIS LIVERY IF YOU’RE MAKING A PFALZ D.IIIa REPLICA, THIS WAS AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE TO CREATE AND IM SURPRISED THAT I GOT IT TO LOOK AS GOOD AS IT DOES.
Anyway,
This is my replica of the Pfalz D.IIIa WWI Fighter. The one I’ve made here boasts the “Max Holtzem” Warpaint, a strikingly beautiful livery that Max himself wore to combat. Much like the “Red Baron” Warpaint is named after Manfred von Richthofen, the pilot of the infamous Red Baron Fokker DR.1, Max Holtzem named the beautiful livery of his aircraft after himself.
Controls:
“Normal” aircraft controls, pitch, roll, and yaw do as expected. Instead of traditional wing guns or miniguns, this creation utilizes the cannon part, for more realistic performance.
Things to note:
Remember, this is a World War 1 era aircraft, and it will fly as such. This is not a General Dynamics F-16 Falcon! It is a Pfalz D.IIIa! Therefore, it will not perform absolutely ridiculous maneuvers, or have blistering speed or anything like that. It will perform realistically, and is not meant to be the most stable thing in the air. Now of course, there are some things I changed just because of preference, for instance, the actual top speed of the Pfalz D.IIIa was about 115mph, ± 2.5 - 5mph, however on my replica here, it’s about 135mph, ± 5mph. here and there, depending on how you’re flying it.

A final note, this creation has completely custom control surfaces! That’s right, all of ‘em! Pitch, Roll, and Yaw. That’s a first for me, I may have had completely custom control surfaces on my P-31U previously, but it didn’t have Yaw Controls at all, so custom Yaw wouldn’t’ve made any sense anyway.
Happy Flying!

Eine wunderbare Schöpfung! Besonders gefällt mir die Bemalung.
@LocalAvgeek it does not. This is a WWI Era biplane fighter, if you pitch up too hard for too long, it’s gonna stall.
This thing Stalls
@21212123 indeed
This plane floats
If only my pc wasn’t a potato and my phone was good
@RandomUser09 I guess I could, it’s just that it would look more fitting on the iconic Fokker Dr.1
@AWESOMENESS360 make the red baron livery.
@KwasmoTheAPFDSround well yeah, WWI Fighter Aircrafts aren’t made to do barrel rolls at low altitudes!
@AWESOMENESS360 I'm on low, actually now that I think of it perhaps I shouldn't be judging people's builds on a phone
Edit: I tried on high settings to do an aileron roll and I crashed into water, I think I overestimate WW1 planes.
@Urocyon thanks!
Brilliant livery!
@KwasmoTheAPFDSround wdym? It works fine for me, what physics setting are you using?
@AWESOMENESS360 by unstable I mean during basic maneuvers it doesn't go the way you pitch and roll. I suspect it's got something to do with the flaps
@KwasmoTheAPFDSround define unstable, maybe you’re just not good at flying. Also in regards of this build, it’s a WWI era aircraft, it’s not gonna be the most stable thing in the air.
Your builds are so absolutely spectacular and amazing in looks! Your seadragon is AMAZING! Except they all are very unstable, you should probably work on that
@AWESOMENESS360 I understand that...guess Germany didn't want very different aircraft during WWI, they might have different top speeds, maneuverability, and sizes. So they will never act or fly the same but they do look very similar!
@CrazyPenguin1306 well they’re both German aircraft, so that kinda helps. However, Albatross and Pfalz were two completely different companies
This looks incredibly similar to the Albatross D.III which is also a German WWI fighter, Looks really cool! Good job! (Not that it means much from me but whatever!)
Ahhh I see ok @AWESOMENESS360
@shipster no no, it’s not that. I was expecting this build to get a helluva lot more attention than what it got, and I feel like I kinda put in more effort than what was given back in reward.
Maybe one day you could come back to it and adjust the bits you don’t like! I think it’s pretty cool @AWESOMENESS360
@shipster thanks, this post kinda flopped tbh
Looks beautiful though...
