J-16
J-16 Multirole fighter, developed by Shenyang Aircraft Corporation of China on the basis of J-11 fighter jet, is a fourth-generation and half-seat two-engine multirole fighter.The aircraft shape refers to the Russian Su-30MKK fighter-bomber. The J-16 is equipped with an active electronically scanned phased array radar (AESA), which can simultaneously identify and attack multiple targets. It has a long-range beyond-line-of-sight air combat capability and a strong ground and sea strike capability. Compared with J-7, J-16 has a larger air-to-ship missile with a maximum payload of 12 tons, and can launch Yj-62 and Yj-83 air-to-ship missiles. The aircraft is powered by a Chinese-built turbofan 10 Taihang engine, which is comparable in performance to an American F-15E fighter-bomber.J-16 flew its first flight in Shenyang on October 17, 2011cially unveiled the jet in early 2013.
