This is my what-if scenario where the Avrocar's instability problems where solved, and the Project Y-2, a related project on the scale of a fighter, was developed into a full-fledged military aircraft.

The Avro Canada CL-110 is a supersonic attack aircraft that resembles the flying saucers reported all over the world. Named for a bladed, disk shaped throwing weapon, the CL-110 is around 30% larger then it's predecessor, The Y-2, which was designed to test the complex engine technology that would lead to the CL-110. Primary used by the Skypark naval forces, it can usually be found on the large amphibious assault ships, serving as air support for troops during amphibious landings. Thanks to their thin design, these aircraft are, surprisingly, stored in racks, or even vertically, allowing more to be stored below the flight deck. Pitch and Roll is achieved by varying the thrust from the vents around the rim of the aircraft, with Yaw having a similar system. Due to their completely foreign design, they're regularly mistaken for UFOs by people of the Wright islands.
