In 2019, Sweden began receiving the newest upgrade of their best fighter. Originally referred to as the Gripen NG (Next Gen) or Super JAS, the JAS-39E Gripen E is the revision of the already advanced JAS-39C. The Gripen E is Sweden's entry into the next generation of warfare. It is cheaper than 5th gen fighters, but it is still able to compete with them. The Gripen E will boost air powering Europe.
