Fighter-GERWALK test

GERWALK (Ground-Effective Reinforcement of Winged Armament with Locomotive Knee-joint), a mode after Fighter and before Battroid (Battle Droid) that has the capability of both but decreased to a 50-50 balance. It can fly, but not as fast as Fighter mode. It can walk and run, but not as fast as Battroid mode.

However in this experiment, it's very limited. I only added the transformation for the legs and arms, added Gyro for stability is GERWALK mode, and have the wings to fold a little just for a bit more awesomeness. The one I uploaded here is upgraded from the one you see in the preview post.

And as you all (That knows me well) know, I'm not good at detailing. So I'm sorry that this plane looks plain. Also the transformation isn't smooth, and the legs and arms are extremely floppy especially in Fighter mode.

Anyways, rambling aside, onto the controls:

  • AG 1 is to extend the legs into GERWALK position, fold the main wings and vertical stabilizers, and activate the Gyro for controllability.
  • AG 2 is to extend the arms to GERWALK position. Sorry for the weird transformation.
  • Trims to trim the plane in flight in Fighter mode.

  • AG 1+Trim up to engage the forward thrusters in GERWALK mode.

Flight instructions:

  • To switch from Fighter mode to GERWALK mode, first off you need ground clearance. Just anywhere not too close to the surface. Next step is to activate AG 1 to extend the legs and the Gyro. After they are extended, you are now basically flying a weird shaped VTOL. If you wish to have the arms ready, activate AG 2.

  • To switch from GERWALK mode to Fighter mode, deactivate AG 2 to retract the arms (If you have it activated). Next, deactivate AG 1 to deactivate the Gyro and retract the legs. Be careful, because the plane tends to suddenly tip downwards.

Notes:

  • The manueverability and instability is extreme in Fighter mode.
  • The legs are floppy, but don't worry. They won't destroy your plane when turning. Probably.
  • To hover in GERWALK mode, your throttle needs to be around 13%~16%
  • Because this thing has legs instead of landing gears in GERWALK mode, be careful when touching down. Make sure your lateral and horizontal speed isn't too high, otherwise the 'Feet' will be damaged. Your vertical speed also needs to be slow, so this thing is pretty decent in training your most perfect VTOL landing skills.
  • I haven't added any armaments to this guy. Sorry, you probably have to add them yourselves.
  • It has no Battroid mode, and I probably never will add Battroud mode to this guy. But maybe for another build. If I'm in the mood to build that and I'm not in Lazy mode.

So, that's pretty much all. I hope you enjoy this small experiment of mine.
