The S.A-165 Jaguatirica (Ocelot) is a low-supersonic light strike aircraft designed for low cost of operation and ease of maintenance, and capable of operating from rugged or improvised frontline/dispersed airstrips. Carrying a respectable amount of ordnance for its size, the little plane has proved itself as a reliable and survivable attack platform in almost all scenarios it has faced, from close air support to inderdiction.

The aircraft is armed with two DEFA 30mm revolver cannons on its nose, and short-range air-to-air missiles for self-defense are typically carried on wingtip stations. It has eight wing and one centreline station, where all assortments of weapons may be carried. A common configuration includes six bombs in double racks, four short-range air-to-ground missiles, two UB-21 rocket pods with 21 70mm rockets each, and two external fuel tanks.

With its rugged structure, the aircraft has had an exceptionally long structural life even under heavy stress, and is capable of bringing its pilot back home safely even after taking a great deal of damage. Its heavy-duty landing gear, designed for operation in austere airstrips, had the unexpected side-effect of making it decently suited for carrier operations. As such, it has also seen brief service with naval units in an experimental basis.

Though the aircraft is capable of supersonic speeds with use of afterburner, it is at its best performance on the high subsonic range. Designed mainly for low-level penetration of enemy air defenses, it is not exactly a fighter aircraft, but at that speed range, low altitude, and in a clean configuration, it is very capable of defending itself and an opponent that shouldn't be underestimated in air combat.

Designed in the mid-80's, the Jaguatirica remains in use to this day as one of the main attack aircraft designed by Socrux. Its compact size and deadliness have earned it the nickname of "Pocket Tornado".
