Valkyrie MBT TUSK
Valkyrie MBT TUSK
The Valkyrie MBT was a indigenous-developed tank, influenced by post-WWII French and German designs. The hull takes after the Leopard Prototyp A, but with additional side skirts reminiscent of the Entwicklung series, granting it great mobility with decent armour. On the other hand, the turret is inspired by French designs such as the AMX 50 100, whose oscillating turret allows for the incorporation of an autoloading main gun. The Valkyrie uses a 120 mm 4 round clip main gun, with an intra-clip reload of 1.3s, with a total ammunition capacity of 12 rounds. The gun is also gyroscopically stabilised, which when combined with the auto-righting hull allows for better shoot-on-the-move capabilities.
This particular Valkyrie has been retrofitted in the field, with engineers adding spaced armour on the upper glacis and turret in order to counter the ATGMs used by insurgents in urban scenarios, thus increasing its survivability at the cost of highly increased weight. The appliqué armour can be shedded with the use of explosive bolts in the riveting process, for greater mobility.
