After the three squadrons of MizeaO War Mercenary began their contracted operations in the Syrian war for a few weeks, the skilled pilots faced limitations in the diversity of available aircraft. This prompted the initiation of a project to request specific aircraft for each unit operating in high-conflict areas.

Since the Cobra Squadron’s missions are primarily SEAD/DEAD, requiring long-range flights due to the distant base, they requested two types of aircraft: Tanker and Electronic Warfare.

MZ-TK-613 and MZ-F-217A, modified for Electronic Warfare, were dispatched for their use.

MZ-F-217A is a standard test model aircraft, with 30 units produced. It was deployed with 4 units per squadron in high-conflict areas and 2 units per squadron in regular deployment areas to test its operational performance.

MZ-F-217A serial number 05 one of accompanied forth aircraft assigned to mercenary ID MZWM-5 call sign "Gizmo," was painted and named The Kingfisher due to its colors resembling those of a kingfisher bird.

About Gizmo

Mercenary ID MZWM-5 Call sign Gizmo former US Navy soldier who fought in the Syrian civil war with a EA-18G Growler.
