Fenris Air Factory XS-001 Erne

14.2k Griffon1  4.1 years ago

The XS-001 Erne is a light fighter developed by Fenris Air Factory Ltd. The aircraft serves as a transitional plane to the company's more progressive planes that they have planned.
The aircraft, being a light fighter, boasts impressive maneuverability and low weight. This allows it to have a very tight turning circle, which gives it a strict upper hand over most cononventional jet fighters.
While being agile, the aircraft also has good speed characteristics, being able to surpass the speed of sound, even at low altitudes. However, it's performance at altitude is somewhat lacking.
Despite it's strengths in speed and maneuverability, it features sub-par durability and damage resistance, and maintinance costs for this plane are very high.
Currently, the production run of this aircraft is very limited, as to test the market first before manufacturing and releasing the XS- line of advanced fighters.
