**CLOSED** Airfix Challenge **CLOSED**
THE CHALLENGE IS CLOSED
Hi guys, I decided to open up a new challenge, this time, the Airfix Challenge. A challenge where you present me with a Airfix model kit, and I have to assemble it myself. For those interested in participating, here are the rules:
All contestants need to ANNOUNCE THEIR PARTICIPATION in the comments section below. If anyone is uncertain, it is best to ASK before posting your model kit.
If a contestant wants to enter the competition with more than 1 entry, the limit is 2. Should BOTH aircraft reach the TOP 5, the plane with the HIGHEST SCORE gets the reward.
The model kit MUST BE a successor to this post, and coloured completely in FLAT GRAY [Hex code 515151; 0% Metallic, 0% Smoothness]. If your model did not become a successor, make sure you LINK YOUR PLANE in the comments below.
The model kit can be separated up to a MAXIMUM OF 100 separate PIECES that need to be attached together by myself. This INCLUDES the PLATFORM, STAND and any additional items as well. Points will be deducted for every EXTRA PIECE exceeding the 100. The challenge will be judged on the final outcome of the built model. The details for the rating are written in the scoring system below.
A FRAME for the pieces is optional and is NOT part of the 100 piece requirement. Points will be awarded for the frame.
The model kit CANNOT exceed 1,000 GAME PARTS. This INCLUDES the optional frame. Points will be deducted for every EXTRA GAME PARTS exceeding 1,000. I understand the inconvenience but this is because my PC has difficulty when loading too many parts (as well as other people)
The model kit does NOT need to functional, APPEARANCE IS KEY. In-game wheels, propellers, VTOL nozzles, or Swing-wing parts are allowed. As long as the model itself WON'T MOVE from the platform or stand. Wing parts are completely UNNECESSARY, but can be used if you wish.
The model can be a flying, ground or sea VEHICLE. It can be based on a real, fictional, proposed or personal design. This will not affect the score. NON-VEHICLES will be disqualified. Additional items such as crew members, pilots, palm trees, etc can be added (an a reward is given), but your overall score will be awarded to your main vehicle.
The vehicle MUST rest on a STAND or a PLATFORM. If the vehicle is posing in MOTION, it MUST be resting on a STAND. If the vehicle TOPPLES over by gravity alone, points will be DEDUCTED. If no stand or platform is provided, points will also be DEDUCTED. The more ORIGINAL the pose, the better the score.
INSTRUCTIONS of building and colouring details are optional. Colour instructions must be given in COLOUR HEX CODE, METALIC and SMOOTHNESS ratios. Points will be awarded based on the DETAIL of the instructions and / or COLOUR CODES provided.
CLIPPING between the pieces will be deducted from the score. This does NOT include clipping of game parts in a single piece - see example below. Modded parts are allowed. You will need to provide a link to the mod used.
I have created an F-55 Blueray Aquan model kit as an example for you to follow. You are NOT LIMITED to split the plane's body vertically in half as per traditional Airfix models. I understand it is very challenging to do, but you are free to do so if you wish. Feel free to split the aircraft into any form or way you wish, as long as it can be ASSEMBLED BACK TOGETHER.
The DEADLINE was 31/07/2020. The challenge is now CLOSED.
The Challenge will be rewarded as follows:
1st place: 30 upvotes
2nd place: 20 upvotes
3rd place: 10 upvotes
4th place: 5 upvotes
5th place to last place: 1 upvote.
As a summary, the pointing system is as follows:
5pts - personal preference
5pts - challenge of build (how much fun was it for me to build, not how easy or difficulty)
10pts - smoothness
5pts - game part efficiency (the less parts used to make straight lines, the better)
5pts - pose complexity (the more impressive the pose, the better)
10pts - additional items (ex. tow trucks, crew, palm trees, etc..)
10pts - extra detail (logos, visible parts, built cockpits, etc...)
10pts - kit frame
25pts - instructions
Deductions:
-3pt per extra pieces OVER 100
-1pt per game part OVER 1000
-2pt per CLIPPING pieces
-20pts if the model FALLS
-10pts if no STAND or PLATFORM is present
Disqualifications:
Non vehicle models

good challenge idea
@WarshipDude I really thank you for trying. I will still award you with 1 upvote :)
@Falkenwut im leaving, i can't disassemble it for you, its too big, crashed SP twice
@WarshipDude If you read the rules you will see that the challenge is still open.
Yes, You can make anything as long as its a vehicle in kit form. The Frame is optional. Adding a frame will add 10 points to your score..
God forbid its already ended
So i can make anything i want as long as its a kit, can it be a fictional build? The only problem is i cannot make the frame as im on mobile phone
@Bob9998 If you see the example I shared, you will notice that the guns go through the nose.. If you leave these parts clipping, and I would need to "cut them off", I will deduct points.
Ima do this
