Vtol up for afterburner, vtol down for flaps. Approach at 20% throttle and with flaps extended. There are reverse thrusters tied to brake as well. I know that you guys can't see my points, but I'm just a small number away from gold. To commemorate this achievement of mine I built this jet. Nothing too fancy, just something stylish and fast. It's a little nose heavy until you pick up some speed. My goal was to make gold in 15 uploads or less. Thanks to this awesome community I achieved this goal. Turns out that there was a VTOL engine inside with the input setting set to the VTOL slider.
I slid the VTOL slider down then up, and the plane just launched forward! I did nothing else! I was so confused!

@Wakescar Thanks man, it's nice to hear that you notice that sort of thing. Getting the planes to fly is one thing, bringing them back down safely is another issue all together. Take off, flight, and landing are all part of the experience for me. I try to have that come across in my builds as well.
Very stylish design as usual my friend. I've always been a fan of how you keep ease of landing in mind with your builds as well. To me that is a huge factor that separates a versatile aircraft from a "show piece." Congrats on gold!
