Announcement + Airplane
On Sunday I will be leaving for a week's vacation. I will most likely have no internet access and thus I will not be able to participate on SimplePlanes. I will have three days after that that I may be able to at least look at planes, but after that I will only have mornings and evenings as summer is over. I can't tell you where I am going, but I will bring back a souvenir plane for you. I am not losing interest in SP, I am just running out of time for it. I expect to eventually return to full power. I plan to post at least one plane per week in the mean time. I am making an announcement as this absence was planned, unlike my last two, both of which resulted in concerned followers. (By the way, does anyone know when BananaDictator will be back?) I just wanted to give everyone advance notice this time. The plane I have here is a fictional plane. It is a Lockheed-Martin P-2 Spitfire. It's design was largely based on the Supermarine Spitfire and the P-51 Mustang. My premise was, "If the Spitfire was American", except it flies crappy instead of great. Throttle up to 100% and press one. The second the wheels leave the ground, press 2. VTOL down for the landing gear. Don't overwork this poor little plane as it is barely balanced and is highly underpowered. It is quite difficult to fly. In another flight simulator I have, the "Splitfire" flies similarly, except with plenty of power.Have fun and see you later!

16.2k LordofLego@karlosdarkness I used the VTOL to take off faster and lessen the nose-down.9.3 years ago

17.4k karlosdarknessIt's easy enough to make fly. Pick the vtol engine, toggle that to group 1 and take off without that active, fold the gear activate the vtol and she flies fine all be it with a wobbling vertical stabilizer.9.3 years ago
