An F-16. Please upvote and follow me. The F-16 has been in sevice since 1976 and has an upgraded brother in the F-2. It fought in Vietnam and Desert Storm.

@Vincent_ While technically true, the F-16 never went to Vietnam. It entered service in 1978 even though it flew in 1974. F-14s, however, did fly in Vietnam in the latter year but saw no combat since they only flew air cover.

@marxman28 No, reading about it, First flight was in February 1974, Vietnam war ended in late April 1975.
it was designed due to the US lacking a good air superiority in the Vietnam war.
Nor was the F-14, not operational during the vietnam war, also introduced late 1974 but was still undergoing testing.

Curiously, the F-14 did, but it saw no combat.
Wasn't the F-16 conceptualized after Vietnam? realizing that they needed a better air superiority fighter.
