With Germany declaring war on Russia, the Russians turned to the British in a joint venture to create a small seaplane fighter that could be used from lakes, the sea etc.
This enabled the airforces to have a fighter which had a moveable base as they only relied on resupply from ships and thus their location couldnt be predicted for reprisal attacks (unlike runways which where a known position).
Also my solution to the auto undercarriage criticism of late =)
LG turns the light on or off, VTOL down for flaps.

Very nice
@EternalDarkness yep, Google polikarpov i153 :)
Looks nice and flies quite well. However, pilot's situation awareness would be awful in combat due to inner portions of the inner wing concealing everything off boresight.
As usual , very perfect job . Just magnific plane .
@Tang0five thanks :) I use a couple of small flotation bars hidden in the float, let's me be more flexible on floating position etc
Most enjoyable, I can’t fathom out how you make a sea plane fly so well!
Like the idea, I’ll take her for a spin shortly!
