The Mitsubishi F-15J/DJ is a Japanese twin-engine, all weather, air-superiority fighter that was based on the McDonnell Douglas F-15. The F-15J was produced under licence by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. The subsequent F-15DJ and F-15J Kai variants were also produced. Japan is the largest customer of F-15 Eagles that are outside the US. In addition to combat, the DJ variant roles include training, while the F-15J Kai variant is a modernized version.
